Program Details
Students start their cultural and educational adventure in the bustling capital city of Warsaw. As one of the fastest growing cities in Europe it not only attracts international business but also serves as a major center of cultural events and university life. It successfully combines the dynamism of a modern European city with the romantic atmosphere of the Old Town and the royal residences across the city. Warsaw also commendably cultivates the memory of the large Jewish population that perished during the Holocaust. Next, the students travel beach Polandon a super-express train to the medieval city of Gdansk, the dramatic witness of the Nazi aggression against Poland at the outbreak of the Second World War and the birthplace of the anti-Communist labor movement, with its unique location on the Baltic Sea and the very close proximity to the famous summer resort city of Sopot and the young and fashionable Polish seaport of Gdynia. The Tri-City offers the extraordinary experience of diverse urban environment, where an extensive sea beach, Gothic architecture and ultra-modern universities all neighbor each other. The program includes excursions to the UNESCO World Heritage sites of the charming medieval town of Torun, birthplace of Copernicus, and the monumental Teutonic Castle at Malbork, the world’s largest brick castle. Students who would like to explore other areas in Poland and beyond can utilize the ferry service to Scandinavia, the rail system connecting Gdansk with all major cities in Poland and Berlin in Germany and the local airport with inexpensive flights to many destinations across Europe, especially to Scandinavian countries, Great Britain and Germany.
