Study Abroad in Puerto Rico- Social Justice 2018

About the Program

Earn 6 credit hours studying abroad in Puerto Rico for 3 weeks! Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the United States, so you will not need a passport to join us for this amazing adventure. Even though it is a part of the U.S., Puerto Rico boasts a unique culture, breathtaking natural beauty, an exciting nightlife, and some of the most delicious food you will ever taste! While most people on this island speak Spanish, it is easy to get around speaking English. The trip will be led by VSU Professor Lorna Alvarez-Rivera, a Puerto Rican native, and VSU Professor Tom Hochschild, who has taught on numerous study abroad trips. The tentative dates of the program are May 10-May 31, and the estimated cost of the trip is $3,450, not including the cost of the courses. Financial aid may be applied to the cost of your courses.

Please provide information about your accommodation needs at the time of your application and allow time to arrange for accommodations.
